In the process of pulp and paper production, various solid wastes (i.e. waste residues) are generated. For example, in a paper mill with an annual production capacity of 1 million tons, the proportion of waste residues is about 10%, or 100000 tons per year. The quantity is large and highly concentrated. If not disposed of properly, it can also cause significant pollution and endanger the ecological environment.
The composition of papermaking waste residue is very complex, mainly including ropes, cotton yarn, cotton cloth, paper residue, wood chips, rubber, plastic, electronic components, iron wire, iron nails, aluminum cans, PE plastic bottles, wax paper glass, stones, and sand. Paper waste can be used to produce solid alternative fuels, which not only reduces waste but also replaces traditional fossil fuels and lowers carbon emissions.


The plastic in papermaking waste cannot be degraded, and direct stacking seriously affects the ecological environment. At present, there are difficulties in sorting and removing impurities from papermaking waste residue, low degree of resource utilization, and extensive terminal processing, resulting in resource waste and certain environmental risks and safety hazards. With the tightening of environmental policies, the demand for clean production in the paper industry, and the upgrading of solid waste disposal technology, the energy utilization of paper waste residue is the trend. The combustible components in papermaking waste account for more than 80%, with a moisture content of 50% -60%. Through pre-treatment systems such as grabbing or chain plate feeding, multi-stage crushing, magnetic separation recovery, density screening, eddy current separation, and transportation, the metal and inert non combustible materials are effectively separated to obtain uniformly sized combustible materials, which is very beneficial for stable combustion of boilers and can reduce secondary pollution.

The manufacturing process of the RDF solid alternative fuel intelligent treatment system for papermaking waste residue (rope, heavy residue, light residue) is dehydration molding, and the sorting process separates metals, heavy materials, etc., greatly reducing the impact on boiler combustion in the later stage. The manufacturing process does not produce harmful exhaust gases. The moisture content of fuel rods is less than 20%, and after storage for a period of time, it can be less than 15%. It has good corrosion resistance and will not absorb moisture and crush, making it easy to transport. The calorific value is about 5000 kcal, and the shape is consistent and uniform, which is very beneficial for stable combustion and improving efficiency. It is also very beneficial for stable combustion of boilers and can reduce secondary pollution. The entire production system has a small footprint and can be located next to the papermaking and pulp production line, solving the problems of secondary transportation of waste residue and water washing and sewage treatment, providing strong support for clean production, pollution reduction, carbon reduction and synergistic efficiency improvement of papermaking enterprises.
